Researcher of Plant Physiology, BIO 04, at the Department of Life Sciences of the University of Siena. From 2012 to today associated with IBBA (Institute of Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology) Research Area of CNR of Pisa.
The research activity is focused on:
– Effects of pollutants, metal and plastic nanoparticles on the germination of seeds of agronomic interest, on the induction of phyto-genotoxic effects and ultrastructural damage.
– Analysis of antioxidant systems in halophytic species from different geographical areas and their resistance to stress.
Qualitative and quantitative investigations of proteins, fatty acids, glucosinolates and antioxidant systems in seeds of food interest.
Reviewer for numerous international and national scientific journals. Member of the National Order of Biologists and of the Italian Botanical Society. Author of 70 scientific publications in international journals.
