Department of Life Sciences

Full-time researcher at the University of Siena since 2001 and then Associate Professor of Botany at the University of Siena since 2015. He has always been interested in various aspects of plant reproductive biology, with particular attention to the growth mechanisms of pollen tubes. He subsequently focused on the processes that control cell wall synthesis, including different cell systems. In recent years the focus of research, in addition to the study of reproductive systems, also includes the study of the damage induced by environmental stress on plants of agronomic interest, whose analysis is carried out at various levels (physiological, cellular, molecular) and which also includes the effects that environmental stress can cause to the reproduction of plants of economic importance.
