Associate Professor of Zoology in the Department of Life Sciences, University of Siena, Italy. He is mainly interested in behavioural ecology, animal behaviour, wildlife management and conservation, with emphasis on adaptive mechanisms of interspecific coexistence and competition, predator-prey relationships, foraging and social behaviour, as well as management of large mammals (ungulates; carnivores). Scientific responsible of many research projects/agreements with public Agencies. Invited member of the SSC Caprinae Specialist Group – International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Member of the editorial board of journals Mammalian Biology and Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution. Referee for many international peer reviewed journals. Author of over 50 papers on ISI-WOS peer reviewed journals and 3 book chapters.
