Francesco Frecentese

Department of Pharmacy

Associate Professor in Medicinal Chemistry. He received a PhD in Drug Science in 2006 focusing his studies to the application of microwaves in the synthesis of pharmaceutically active compounds. In 2010, Prof. Frecentese obtained his specialization in Hospital Pharmacy with full marks and honors. The researches carried out, aimed to Medicinal Chemistry topics, can be divided into different directions, among which the synthesis of biologically active compounds of heterocycles, peptides and peptidemimetics; the development of new synthetic methodologies and application to the synthesis of biologically active compounds; determination of environmental pollution and the related risk of the exposed population with particular reference to the qualitative and quantitative speciation of fine dust. Principal Investigator for national projects. Referee for several journals in the Medicinal Chemistry field.
