Francesco Nardi

Associate Professor of Genetics at the University of Siena (Italy). He received a PhD in Animal Biology at the University of Siena in 2002. He was Research Assistant at the ESPM Department, University of California at Berkeley, from 2000 to 2001 and Post Doctoral Researcher and Adjunct Professor at the Evolutionary Biology and Life Science Department, University of Siena, from 2002 to 2015. His research focused on mitochondrial genome evolution, the phylogeny of basal insects and the phylogeograpy and invasion genetics of agricultural pests, including the olive fly, other fruit flies and whiteflies. His current interest is in data analysis and bioinformatic applications for evolutionary genetics. He currently serves as member of the Didactic Committee for the Degree in Biological Sciences and teacher of Genetics (Biological Sciences) and Data Analysis (Biology). He is member of the editorial board of the journal Diversity.
