Professor of Plant Genetics and Biotechnology University of Naples “Federico II”, since 2001. Associate Professor of Plant Genetics, from 1987 to 2000. She worked with International Cooperation Agencies: visiting scientist at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, (IITA), Ibadan, Nigeria; external teacher of Plant Genetics at the University “Eduardo Modlane”, Maputo, MZ; member of the board of trustees the International Centre for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA), Aleppo SY. Coordinator of the International Network for PhD training in Plant Genetics and Biotechnology (PGB Network) since 2012. Visiting scientist at the Department of Horticulture of the University of Purdue, West Lafayette, Indiana (USA), 1992. Associate researcher at the Department of Botany, University of Durham, UK, 1986-87. Research activities: molecular bases of plant response to biotic stresses stresses, ‘omics’ sciences to study plant-insect interactions, gene manipulations, plant biotechnology for crop protections.
