Giovanna Trinchese

Department of Biology

Researcher in Physiology at the University of Naples Federico II where she received, in 2014, a PhD in “Food and Nutrition Sciences”. The research is mainly devoted to identify the physiological and molecular processes activated in response to different nutritional interventions. In collaboration with the Universitè Catholique de Louvain, she has deepened the study of the composition of the gut microbiota by analyzing its role in the regulation of the metabolic functions following the administration of milk deriving from different animal species. Currently, the research is extended to integrative physiology, in order to evaluate the involvement of mitochondrial metabolism in the regulation of metabolic, immunological and inflammatory mechanisms in both physiological and pathological states.
